President, Apexus

Christopher Hatwig is President of Apexus, the HRSA-designated 340B Prime Vendor. He works closely with HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs in Washington, DC, to educate all stakeholders, and to improve the integrity and value of the 340B Drug Pricing Program for the nation’s safety-net providers. The 340B Prime Vendor Program (PVP) provides added value by collectively representing the 340B covered entities’ purchases with a nationwide distribution network, sub-ceiling discounts on pharmaceuticals and value-added discounts on other outpatient pharmacy-related products and services. Before joining Apexus, Chris was the director of ambulatory pharmacy services and value analysis programs at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, where he practiced for 13 years, managing one of the nation’s largest and more progressive ambulatory pharmacy programs serving low-income and uninsured patients. Chris received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Arkansas. He completed residencies in hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy administration at the University of Wisconsin, culminating in an MS in hospital pharmacy.

“I have been passionate about the original objectives of the Patient Safety Pharmacy Collaborative to what has transitioned to AIMM today.  I believe in our objectives and am uniquely positioned within the industry and my own company to provide financial support and build new strategic relationships with other organizations to support our efforts.”
